Mr. Westerheide joined Piñon in August of 2022 and serves as General Counsel. He brings 11 years of legal experience with a background in upstream oil and gas operations and a primary focus on midstream and marketing transactions, capital markets transactions, and corporate governance.

Prior to joining Piñon, Mr. Westerheide worked in various legal roles of increasing responsibility at Ovintiv Inc.; Ascent Resources, LLC; Permian Resources, LLC; and American Energy Partners, LP. Over the course of his career, he has assisted in the funding and deployment of over $16 billion of debt and equity capital, the structuring and restructuring of multiple oil and gas investment vehicles and the negotiation of numerous complex commercial contracts.

Mr. Westerheide earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (summa cum laude), Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate (with honors) from the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the State Bar of Oklahoma and lives in Denver, CO.
